Soon Loh Vue's journey into the world of film began during his formative years in Wisconsin. As a first-generation Hmong and Chinese American, he was captivated by the allure of cinema from a young age. Family outings to the local movie theater became cherished moments filled with wonder and inspiration, sparking his deep passion for the art of storytelling through film. This early exposure ignited a lifelong fascination with the medium and set him on a path of creative exploration and professional growth.



Early Beginnings and Passion for Film


Born and raised in Wisconsin, Soon Loh Vue's upbringing was infused with a love for film and storytelling nurtured through family outings to the local movie theater. These formative experiences instilled in him a profound appreciation for the power of cinema to captivate and inspire. It was during these early years that Soon developed a keen interest in the intricate narratives and compelling characters that would shape his future career in the industry. This foundational passion for storytelling laid the groundwork for his journey into the world of visual media, driving his pursuit of excellence in every endeavor.


Educational Journey and Entry into Television


In 2014, Soon graduated from the Milwaukee Area Technical College with a degree in Television and Video Production. His journey in the television industry began in 2012 while still a student at MATC, where he worked on several local Emmy-nominated and award-winning programs, including Adelante, Black Nouveau, and Around the Corner with John Mcgivern. He also gained experience in live event production, eventually becoming the head of production for the Milwaukee Hmong New Year in 2023.


Breakthrough in Film Post-Production


Following his graduation, Soon embarked on his career in the film industry as a freelance assistant editor for local production companies such as About Face Media, Purple Onion Films, and September Club. His notable projects include serving as one of the assistant editors for Zedd: True Colors the Documentary and The Blood is at the Doorstep, which earned recognition at the 2021 Red Rose Film Festival as the Best Documentary.


Rising through the Ranks and Entrepreneurship


Soon's dedication and expertise led him to advance within About Face Media, where he eventually became an editor. His portfolio includes collaborations with clients from diverse industries, including Disney, Kohls, Harley Davidson, Aurora, and Northwestern Mutual. With over a decade of experience under his belt, Soon established his own production company, Kindle Motion Pictures LLC, in 2022. Through his company, he collaborates with other production companies and industry professionals to empower minority brands and organizations by creating high-quality and impactful visual storytelling content.
